Craftsman Course

Traditional Craft Intensive

At A Glance
2010 Dates: 8/8-8/14
Registration Information

Our craft intensive begins with instruction in how to use traditional woodworking tools like the axe, knife, saw, draw knife, spoke shave and crooked knife, then focuses on successfully completing two of the following three crafts: a self bow, pack basket and canoe paddle. There are a variety of other possible smaller possible projects, including a bucksaw frame, a netting needle and shuttle, an atlatl, a quickie bow, and a friction fire set.

You choose what you want to do. We help you accomplish it. The course is designed so that you make a variety (or focus on one) of projects. We won't be demonstrating every project on the list. It's not a "show and tell" course. It's a you-build-it course. You will be able to watch and learn from the other participants in the course. You'll learn the process of creating useful items from natural materials.
