The didgeridoo, a musical instrument native to Australia, is somewhere in the neighborhood of 40,000 years old. Having no moving pieces, the didgeridoo relies upon the creativity of the player rather than memorized notes and songs. We will make didgeridoos out of easily obtainable materials, learn how to play the basic tones, and learn the basics of circular breathing which allows the player to play continuously without stopping to take a breath.

This course will run from 5 to 7 PM.

Topics covered include:

  • Principles of the Didgeridoo
  • How to make a Didgeridoo for less than $5
  • How to make a Didgeridoo to correspond with different musical keys
  • How to make the basic drone
  • Circular Breathing; what it is and how to do it
