Registration Information

        The course begins at 9 AM on Saturday morning and run until 3 PM on Sunday. It takes place at our Bushcraft And Sustainability Field School in Masardis, Maine. Participants can camp on-site or find accomodations locally. Cabins are available just down the road at Blackwater Outfitters, run by our friend Dick Cullins.

  • Knife selection, use, sharpening, and safety
  • Shelter theory, design, and construction
  • Fire theory and application
  • Twig bundle method of firelighting
  • Fire by friction and percussion
  • Commercial fire starters
  • Basic carving projects
  • Netting
  • Navigation: modern and barehanded
  • 7 essential bush knots
  • Making cordage and rope
  • Edible and useful wild plants
  • Packframe construction and use
  • Basic tracking

Primitive, traditional, and modern techniques will be covered.
