When heading north on Route 11, if you miss the turn for Garfield Road you'll come to the Fraser Paper lumber mill. Turn around and go back. Currently there is no sign at the end of the Garfield Road.
From the point where you turn onto the Garfield road from Route 11, it is exactly 4.2 miles to Smith Farm Road, onto which you turn right. Smith Farm Road is located adjacent to 1058 Garfield Road. It is a gravel road alongside a farmer's field. Follow Smith Farm Road straight ahead (don't turn off) for .6 miles and you'll see our parking area on the right.
Travel Information - Plane:
Northern Maine Regional Airport (PQI) in Presque Isle is 30 miles away. There are daily flights between Presque Isle and Logan international airport in Boston, Massachusetts (BOS) provided by US Air. If you arrive late or plan to leave early and want to spend the night in Presque Isle, a good place with reasonable rates is The Budget Traveler.
Bangor International Airport (BGR) is 145 miles away. If flying into Bangor, you can take Cyr Bus Lines to Presque Isle from the Concord Trailways bus station located directly across from the airport.

We can usually do an airport and bus station pick up in Presque Isle. Please let us know your travel information well in advance to determine if this is feasible. Blackwater Outfitters And Cabin Rentals - (207) 540-4101. Our friends Dick and Melanie Cullins operate Blackwater Outfitters, where you can rent a small cabin with a full kitchen and bathroom for a very reasonable rate. They're located just down the road a few miles away.
